The Kai’s The Limit
Scenic Design
2022
A student-run theater production that satirizes social and academic culture at Swarthmore College. As the Set Designer, my goal was to evoke a sense of familiarity within the narrative, which revolves around a student's quest to start a marching band without a football team. The iconic Lamb-Miller Field House on Swarthmore’s campus served as our backdrop, with its distinctive ceiling becoming the focal point. Through meticulous design iterations, we utilized the ceiling's windows in a forced perspective, enhanced by various lighting effects. The resulting set transports the audience to the glitzy ambiance of musicals while remaining anchored in the realm of the familiar.
